Why I wish to be elected
Having so many fond memories of socially in The Fox when I was in Young Farmer, I am very keen to see the Pub once again becoming part of the rural community. There is nothing better than a good local Pub where you are almost guaranteed to catch up with someone you know, and I can see The Fox becoming just that again.
Skills & experience
I live in Stapleton and as well as running two holiday cottages on the Farm I am also an Agricultural Insurance Broker with experience of being a Board member and HR Director with over 70 staff. As well as my management experience I am also part of a volunteer team for the Shrewsbury committee for Lingen Davies, and have a keen interest in interior

Why I wish to be elected
Now retired from my career in IT Project Management, I have lived in the village for 38 years, my family and I have always been regulars at The Fox Inn during that time and I in particular really miss being able to meet up with locals over a drink as I view The Fox as a very significant asset not just to the village but to the wider community. Putting it very simply, I have a passion to improve things for our village of Ryton and the wider community. In the past I was greatly involved in both the campaign to stop The Fox Inn change-of-use to a house (about 25 years ago) as well as the project to replace our old village hall with the fabulous one we now have. With all this in mind, I was one of the founder members of the team to save The Fox once the last owner put it up for sale and was very involved in getting The Fox recognised as a Community Asset and have been on the Steering Committee ever since.
Skills & experience
My wife and I are parent carers for our 43 year old disabled son and this can inhibit me at times in respect to my availability but I am very keen to do whatever I can across a number of areas to get The Fox back open and it become an even bigger asset to the wider community. My particularly areas of interest are with regard to making The Fox a fabulous place for those in the wider community more vulnerable than others, the disabled, others in care, the lonely, those with mental health issues etc as The Fox Community Pub needs to be a very welcoming place for all in the community to gather and benefit from.

Why I wish to be elected
We live in Ryton, would like to see The Fox succeed as a community pub, and am happy to help if I can
Skills & experience
My experience is in charity management, though in 2018-20 I was responsible for a cafe with turnover £350k so have some idea of the financial realities. But I will be happy to defer to candidates with greater commercial experience.

Why I wish to be elected
I am passionate about the benefit a pub can bring to a rural community and would very much like to continue to be involved in this exciting project. With my husband Andy, we own two holiday cottages in the village, and a country pub serving good quality food & drink, in walking distance, is critical to our success.
Involved since the start, I have been humbled by the public support for this project and met so many amazing people in our community.
Skills & experience
A Chartered Accountant, with over 25 years’ experience in the IT industry, I bring skills in strategy, project management, communication and financial rigour.
As Treasurer of the local Village Hall, I will work to ensure a joined-up approach that benefits all members of the local and wider community. I love getting involved, making a contribution and working as part of a team.

Why I wish to be elected
I believe I can bring some business knowledge to the Board having owned and run several small businesses over 50 years. I have been retired for the last 7 years but prior to that I ran 3 shops and 2 pubs with restaurants, one with letting rooms.
Skills & experience
Although now retired, together with my late wife I ran The Plough at Wall for 13 years until 2003 and then The Bucks Head in Church Stretton for 10 years until 2018. Both pubs were closed when we took them and when we left both were in the top 3 busiest pubs in The Stretton area.
