The Fox at Ryton is community owned but will be commercially run to ensure it is a profitable and sustainable business for the benefit of the community for the long term.
The future General Manager and their team, will be supported by our Board of Directors elected from, and by the Members (Shareholders). ​​​
Our aim is to have a Management Board that represents all elements of our Community and is diverse and inclusive of all backgrounds, genders, ages and abilities
The Management Board will ensure that The Fox ....

Has a strategy that reflects the wishes of the local community;

Is managed as a viable business with a profitable financial position and sufficient cash for ongoing operations;

Provides services beyond food & drink which will benefit the local community;

Creates a welcoming and inclusive environment for all age groups, ethnic backgrounds and abilities in the local community;

Provides volunteering and work experience opportunities;

Is compliant with FCA requirements and the Rules of the Society

Has policies and training for its staff as legally required
The Management Board will do this by ....

Supporting the General Manager and their team who will manage the day to day operations

Meeting monthly through the renovation project and for the first six months after opening; then on a minimum of once a quarter, to review the strategy, operations, financial performance and compliance of The Fox

Holding an Annual Members’ Meeting within six months of the close of the financial year end, and thereafter, on an annual basis

Having written governance, policies and procedures

Arranging Annual Accounts to be prepared and reviewed by an independent qualified accountant

Seeking regular (annual) feedback from the local community and stakeholders about the strategy and offerings of The Fox
